Fortune Cookie Knot for Reclaim Clay Collective
2023. Cord, ceramic fortune cookies
This knot was a commission from Reclaim Clay Collective, a POC, queer, women-owned community pottery + art studio located in the historic Tsue Chong fortune cookie factory in Seattle's Chinatown-International District. I was asked to incorporate several ceramic fortune cookies with a traditional Chinese knot. This style of knot is often hung on the walls of homes and businesses to increase feng shui and protect a place from bad intentions or evil spirits.
