ACAB Quiltlet Series

2020. Cotton fabric. 8 x 8

Created during the 2020 protests, I created these as I was first learning how to quilt from my mother. Quilts have historically been markers of important events, containing scraps from peoples lives and memorializations of those lost. I was inspired by Aids memorial quilts as I sewed my grief into a physical form. ACAB Quiltlet #2 was raffled off in collaboration with artist Kajsa Cottier to raise funds for the Okra Project, a non profit focused on bringing nourishment, safety, and wellness to Black transgender folks.
